Rules of the night

Mechanics

Everything that happens in a run, explained with the game’s own numbers.

Automatic attacks

Automatic weapons

You never aim: each weapon has its own rhythm and pattern and fires by itself. Your build is made of up to 6 weapons at once, each one rising to level 8, plus the passives that boost them all.

LEVEL UP!

XP, levels and cards

Defeated enemies drop experience gems. When the bar fills, the action freezes and three cards appear; pick one with keys 1, 2 and 3, with the gamepad or by tapping it. If an evolution is available, it always shows up among the cards.

  • NEWA weapon or passive you don’t have yet.
  • UPGRADEOne more level for something you already own.
  • EVOLUTIONTurns a maxed weapon into its evolved form.
  • Health PotionShows up when options run out. If no card fits, the potion goes onto your belt.

Gems change color with their value: blue ones are worth little, gold ones more, and pink ones, the biggest, glow with a halo.

↻ Reroll

Reroll

Don’t like the cards? You get 3 rerolls per run to swap all three at once. Use them wisely: they don’t come back.

Class synergy

Class synergies

Each hero has an affinity with a type of weapon. Matching cards show the “★ matches your class” seal and get the class bonus.

EVOLUTION

Evolutions

Bring a weapon to level 8 and own the right passive: on your next level-up, the evolution card appears and turns the weapon into a much stronger version.

Dodge

Dash

The dodge pulls you out of danger for a moment, with a bit of invulnerability. Each hero dodges in their own way, with their own cooldown.

Lyra, the Arcanist · Blink

Teleports 220 px in the direction you move, briefly invulnerable.

cooldown 4s

Kael, the Rogue · Leap

Leaps 240 px over enemies, invulnerable while airborne.

cooldown 3s

Bruna, the Guardian · Shield Rush

Charges 180 px behind the shield, damaging and knocking back enemies in the way.

Kael, the Rogue · Blade Dance

Dashes through everything in the way and ends with a ring of blades that knocks enemies back.

Bruna, the Guardian · Sacred Bastion

Execute

Execution

Elites become executable at 20% health and bosses at 8%. The target staggers, you lunge, land the finishing blow while invulnerable and get healing, gold and bonus XP.

All about Execution

Map events

Map events

In Survival, the map itself turns against you. The first event arrives between 55 and 75 s into the run and the next ones come 45–65 s after the previous one ends, drawn from four. They never overlap a boss entrance.

  • BLOOD MOON

Monsters +25% health and damage · +50% XP

    Lasts 35 s

  • STORM

Lightning strikes from the sky — leave the circles

    Lasts 25 s

  • SKY BEAMS

Lines cross the screen — step out or dash

    Lasts 20 s

  • RING OF FIRE

Fire closes from the outside in — run or dash through

    Lasts 18 s

Gold

Gold and progression

Enemies may drop coins, elites and bosses drop chests, and every execution pays extra gold (+10 on an elite, +50 on a boss). All gold you collect is yours to keep at the end of the run.

YOU DIED

Death and death cam

When your health runs out, the game replays the last moment before your fall in slow motion and tells you who brought you down. Then comes the run summary: time, kills, damage dealt and taken, level and gold.

● REPLAY · SLOW MOTIONKilled byReaper

In co-op, fallen players watch their allies and can be revived by a friend who stays beside them for 3.5 s.

If you win at 20:00, dying in endless mode does not erase the victory.
