When the blood moon rises, the horde pours out of crypts, libraries and groves. In Nightfall Survivors you pick a hero — the Arcanist, the Rogue or the Guardian — and hold out as long as you can while the night grows ever more crowded.

Your weapons fire on their own; your part is to move, dodge the attacks telegraphed on the ground and choose a card at every level: a new weapon, a passive or the evolution that turns a weapon into something else. Every hero has a dash and an ultimate of their own, and arcanas, relics and the passive tree change how you play from one run to the next.

When an elite or a boss hangs by a thread, it staggers — and your hero can execute it with a cinematic finishing blow. Beyond survival mode there is Stage Mode, with four narrated stages and their own rules, and Boss Rush, with three scripted bosses, health in hearts and a Marathon.

Everything can be played solo or in online co-op for up to eight people. The Unity version, in development for PC (Steam), Android and iOS, runs the same deterministic simulation in the game and on the server, and features an original score composed in code.
